Ear Acupuncture & Acupressure
In addition to the classic acupuncture points on the body, there are points on the ears as well. Ear points provide a microcosm of the whole body that can be treated as part of a regular acupuncture treatment or as a treatment on its own. These points can be stimulated with either needles or with seeds and pellets to apply pressure.
Ear points may be needled just like body points using standard acupuncture needles (as shown in the picture above) or using small embedded needles that stay on typically for 1-3 days.
Small vaccaria seeds affixed to a piece of tape (see picture above) can be placed on ear points instead of using needles. This is a great option for people who are afraid of needles and for take-home therapy between regular acupuncture treatments.
